Scottish Institute of Sport supported swimmer Hannah Miley finished off
a fantastic week by winning gold in the women's 400m IM at the Mare
Nostrum meet in Barcelona (13 - 14 June) in a new British record time
of 4:39.91.

Miley moved into the lead on the backstroke leg and from then on her victory was never in doubt. This win gave Hannah her fourth Scottish and third British record of the series. Other participating Institute supported athletes also did well at the event. Kerry Buchan improved on her 100m Breaststroke from Canet to win the 'B' final in a time of 1:11.12.
Scott Houston was 8th in the 'B' final of the men's 100m Backstroke in 58.89.
Head coach, Gary Paterson, said after the meet, "This predominantly young squad found themselves in an environment that was, in many cases, years beyond them in terms of performance. However, they unconditionally improved in their professional approach towards progressing their goals. This has been an excellent opportunity to build upon towards the summer Nationals and Internationals."
