The sportscotland institute of sport network has a clear focus on preparing Scotland's best athletes to perform on the world stage.

We provide high performance expertise to sport and athletes in Scotland.

Through the institute network we work with Scottish Governing Body identified athletes as they progress along their sporting pathway. We are supporting athletes who are performing on the world stage and athletes with the potential to get there.

The six area institutes and the sportscotland institute of sport in Stirling are one integrated performance network. As one network under a one sportscotland philosophy, all support is agreed nationally and delivered regionally ensuring increased focus and consistency.

This integrated approach also means sportscotland is working across all areas of our business to ensure we maximise resources. Area institutes and the network play an important part in the developing regional sporting partnerships and will help to join up the people places and thinking that make sport happen locally. Key to this success are local area partnerships that strengthen the support we provide.

As the high performance arm of sportscotland, the institute network is working with our partners to build greater success for Scottish sport. Our vision is Scotland consistently winning on the world stage.

Preparing Scotland’s best athletes to perform on the world stage involves the collective activity of Scotland's high performance family, which includes Sport Governing Bodies, Commonwealth Games Scotland, British Olympic Association, British Paralympic Association and UK Sport.

The sportscotland institute of sport network currently supports around 700 athletes. To date institute supported athletes have achieved an impressive array of medals at World Championship, Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games level. They have also attained European champion and junior titles. Click here to see our achievements page
