On Thursday (21 June) Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Ross Kellett caused a major coup in the fourth round of the match play stages at the British Amateur Championships (18 - 23 June) by claiming the scalp of world number one in the amateur rankings, Jamie Moull.

Doubles joy for Murray

Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Jamie Murray and his partner Eric Butorac fought back from a set down to clinch the Nottingham Open (18 - 23 June) doubles title.The pair defeated Joshua Goodall and Ross Hutchins 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (10-5) for their fourth tournament win of the season.

Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Katherine Grainger and her team came 2nd in the Rowing World Cup II competition of 2007 (22 - 24 June) in Amsterdam, Holland.

Herbal highsÂ…

The growth of Chinese herbal shops in UK has been exponential - most shopping malls now have them. High performance athletes need to be very careful as some Chinese herbal products can contain banned substances which can lead to a doping offence. Be very cautious!!!!!
