It's gold for Scottish Institute of Sport high performance hockey coach Keith Joss in his first major tournament as Scotland comfortably beat Russia 3-1 in the final of the European Nations Trophy in Lithuania on Sunday (9 September). The ultimate prize was the icing on the cake for Joss as his charges went through the tournament with a perfect record.

The Scotland rugby team opened their World Cup campaign in the best possible way on Sunday (9 September) with a compelling bonus-point win over Portugal in St Etienne. An almost capacity crowd in the atmospheric cauldron of the Geoffroy Guichard stadium watched the Scots run in eight tries to finish the match 56-10.

Scotland saw off Ukraine by a solitary goal in the men's opening European encounter in Lisbon at the Men's European Hockey Nations Trophy (9 - 16 September).

At the 2007 Baden Masters in Switzerland (7 - 9 September), Scottish Institute of Sport supported curlers Team Murdoch came 5th.

Scottish Institute of Sport supported tennis ace Jamie Murray and his mixed doubles partner Liezel Huber (USA) made it through to a thrilling semi final battle at the 2007 US Open (27 August - 9 September).

The 2007 World Judo Championships are taking place this week from 13 - 16 September in Rio De Janiero, Brazil at the Arena Olimpica.
