For the fourth time in five years Scottish cycling superstar Chris Hoy was crowned Scottish Sportsperson of the Year at the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland annual dinner in Glasgow on Saturday (6 October).

Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Andy Murray was unable to capitalise on an emphatic start, losing 0-6 6-2 6-3 to Spain's Tommy Robredo in the final of the Moselle Open in Metz on Sunday (7 October).

A brave and passionate Scotland performance came incredibly close to beating favourites Argentina at the Rugby World Cup in Paris on Sunday (7 October), but they just could not pull the match-winning score from the fire in a fantastic finale to this quarter-final.
