Elite coaches eye success in 2012

With the countdown to London 2012 truly off and running and Vancouver 2010 on the horizon, the need for outstanding British coaches has never been greater. UK Sport today unveiled the identities of seven coaches singled out for development - and the good news for Curling is that former Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Rhona Martin is among them.

Third title for Murray

Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Andy Murray will barely have time to reflect on his third career title, gained yesterday when he defeated Spain's Fernando Verdasco 6-2, 6-3 in the St Petersburg Open final, before he is pitched into the mad scramble in Paris for the remaining two places in next month's end-of-season Tennis Masters Cup in Shanghai.

Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Imogen Bankier and her mixed doubles partner Robert Blair raised hopes of making the quarter-finals before going out in three games to Thailand's Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thoungthongkam at the Denmark Super Series in Odense (22 - 28 October).

Scottish Amateur Champion and Institute supported athlete Jenna Wilson shot a third round 74 and secured at least a conditional card for the 2008 Ladies' European Tour at the final qualifying school at Le Fonti in Italy (23 - 26 October).
