In reaction to today's decision regarding the merger of sportscotland and the Scottish Institute of Sport, Dougie Donnelly, Chairman of the Institute, made the following comments:
The Scottish Institute of Sport has enjoyed growing success over the nine years of its existence during which our clear focus has always been on putting our Scottish athletes first. We remain committed to ensuring the delivery of high performance services ahead of Beijing is world class.
We would like to take time to fully understand the implications of today's announcement and we have a number of important questions that need to be answered before we can make comment.
