Gold for Grainger at Munich World Cup

Beating Germany on their home turf is no mean feat, but that is exactly what Great Britain has done at the conclusion of the first Rowing World Cup of the season in Munich, Germany. Great Britain now leads the overall medal standings, a position that has been dominated by Germany for many years.

Four Scottish Institute of Sport supported hockey players have been playing warm-up matches against Germany in preparation for Beijing. Team GB took on Germany in Dusseldorf (8 - 11 May) and put up a fantastic display.

Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Campbell Walsh won his first major championship gold medal at the weekend when he took victory in the men's K1 at the European Slalom Canoe Championships in Krakow, Poland (9 - 11 May).
