Bankier and Blair lose out in quarter-finals

Robert Blair and Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Imogen Bankier are through to the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles at the Djarum Indonesian Badminton Open in Jakarta (17 - 22 June).
Imogen Bankier and Robert BlairThe Bank of Scotland Centenary International champions were the only British survivors after their 21-17 21-18 victory over Razif Abdul Latif and Sook Chin Chong of Malaysia in the final match of the day.
 
Former Scotland international Blair and Glasgow 20-year-old Bankier faced Danish fourth seeds Thomas Laybourn and Kamilla Juhl on Friday (20 June), but despite a top performace, they lost 14 - 21 17 - 21.
 
The Anglo-Scottish pair have already reached a Super Series quarter-final this year, having reached the last eight of the All England Championships in Birmingham in March before losing to Olympic silver medallists Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms.
 
The pair will go to the Thailand Open in Bangkok next week.
