The British Olympic Association has today (24 June) named the 16 men's and 16 women's athletes who will be representing Team GB for hockey at the summer 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Scottish Institute of Sport supported golfer and last year's SGU Order of Merit winner Callum Macaulay won the Tennant Cup (21 - 22 June), the 72 hole stroke play event played over the Glasgow Gailes and Killermont courses.

With Euro 2008 well underway, Scotland's golfing talent is getting set to tee up against their own continental counterparts when the European Team Championship gets underway next month.

The final dress rehearsal for rowing before the Beijing Olympic Games, the third world cup of the season, starts today in Poznan, Poland. However, Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Katherine Grainger, Scotland's four-time world champion, and her quadruple sculls crew will not be taking part due to insufficient entries in Grainger's classification for a race to take place in Poznan.

At the 2008 European Athletics Cup in Annecy, France (21 - 22 June), Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Allan Scott put in a fine performance and surpassed expectations to finish fourth in the 110m hurdles.

June has been a busy month for Scotland's swimmers with a number of squad members competing on the European stage.

Scotland's hopes at the Amateur Golf Championship (16 - 21 June) evaporated for another year at Turnberry on Thursday (19 June) with defeats for two leading contenders and the end of Scottish Institute of Sport supported golfer Steven McEwan's battling campaign.

Robert Blair and Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Imogen Bankier are through to the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles at the Djarum Indonesian Badminton Open in Jakarta (17 - 22 June).
