Here's lookin' at you Kidd

Two goals by Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Nikki Kidd helped Scotland's under-21 women to a winning start in the Junior Celtic Cup (27 - 29 June) at Peffermill, as they beat Wales 4-1.
Nikki Kidd actionThen again on Sunday (29 June), Nikki scored an amazing goal in the closing women's match against Ireland, aiding Scotland to top the tournament table. A long pass split the Irish defence, and Kidd stretched to get on the end of it, managing to direct it into the Irish goal beyond goalkeeper Amy Gibson.  Scotland finished top of the group by way of goal difference, but were tied on points with Ireland.

Dave Stott, Scotland women's coach, said that they had always expected a tough game from the Irish, and this is what they got, saying they particularly worked hard defensively, and all credit to them for giving them a hard game.

He said: "We were happy with the second half performance, but again, with all the chances we really should have scored more goals.

"Our corners weren't good enough, to win these games you have to score your corners which we obviously didn't today."

He added that they were happy to be top of the table though, and that their aim is to go to the Junior Nations Trophy in Prague unbeaten, and that they are on course to do that, despite there still being areas to work on.
