Paralympic Games in Beijing: 16 Scots on Team GB, 12 of which were supported by the institute and area network. 8 medals won by institute supported athletes.
Merged with sportscotland to become 'sportscotland institute of sport.'
Since 1998 the sportscotland institute of sport has helped prepare many of Scotland's best athletes to perform on the world stage. To date, this includes 12 world champions, 5 Olympic Gold Medals and 6 Olympic Silver Medals. At the Paralympics, institute supported athletes have won 14 Gold, 17 Silver, 12 bronze Paralympic medals. Success at Commonwealth Games includes 12 Gold, 11 Silver and 18 Bronze medals. In addition 9 European Gold medals have been won and a host of junior titles.
