Everybody needs time out, so this week, we've persuaded Institute Network Manager Chris Hildrey, to sit back, relax and tell us a bit about himself...

What is your job title and what do you do at/with the Institute?

sportscotland institute of sport Institute Network Manager (Highlands and Islands). I manage the local resource and delivery of support and service to network and regional athletes in the Highlands and Islands
 

Have you ever participated in sport at an elite level? - If yes, then what, when, for how long and how far did you get?

I represented Scotland in curling at the Europeans in 2000 and was an SIS athlete for 3 yrs competing in WCT events and the further we got was Regina.........

If you could do another person's job at the Institute for a week, what would it be and why?

Administrator, because they play such a pivotal role in making sure all our functions are delivered smoothly.

If you could be anything else other than an Institute Network Manager what would it be and why?

An Artist, because they have the ability of capturing for ever the emotion and aesthetics of any circumstance.......and they elucidate nonsense but get away with it.

If you could invite three people (living or dead) to a dinner party at your gaff… who would they be and why?

Jonathan Ross – for fun, David Cameron – to iron out some political ideologies and Lady GaGa – mad as a hatter, great Craic!

Where is the most scenic and far flung paradise-esque place you have visited with your work at the Institute? With work in general?

With the Institute, all over the Highlands and Islands we are blessed with outstanding scenic beauty, but specifically Scarasta on Harris.  With work in general, Engelberg.

Have you ever had any bizarre/funny incidents with any of the athletes you work with? If so… whom and what?

Yes, many, too many to mention!

Which sports stars do you admire (if any) and why?

Peter Nichol, world class ability, professionalism and vision, with the ability to make hard decisions.
