Colin was employed for 20 years with the Scottish Rugby Union prior to employment with sportscotland institute of sport, first as a performance lifestyle adviser and then as Area Institute Manager in Grampian, before moving to Dundee to head up the Tayside and Fife Area Institute of Sport.
Colin's time with the SRU covered 10 years as one of the first SRU Development Officers before becoming National Coach Development Manager for 6 years.
In his final 4 years with the SRU was as Academy Manager/Coach, being responsible for managing full time and part time national academy players. Colin also remains the only person to date to coach all of Scotland National Age Group sides at U17, U18, U19 and U20. This involved regular World Cups and Six Nations Tournaments. Also coach of Premier One club sides for over 8 years.
Colin is the current Scotland U17 coach and is also a keen golfer who has maintained a single figure handicap for over 30 years.
