Scotland No. 1 badminton star Susan Egelstaff will complete her preparations for next month's World Championships in Paris (23 - 29 August)...

by tackling this week's Kumpoo Macau Open (27 July – 1 August) and next week's Chinese Taipei Grand Prix (3 – 8 August).

The world No. 27, who will be looking to repeat her Commonwealth bronze medal success in New Delhi in October before defending her Bank of Scotland International title in her home city of Glasgow in November, will meet Singapore's world No 54 Xing Aiying in the Macau first round.

Victory will earn her a second-round clash with Hong Kong fifth seed and world No 14 Pui Yin Yip or Indonesia's world No 26 Adriyanti Firdasari.

In Taipei Egelstaff is the eighth seed and is drawn to face Taipei's world No 73 Shao Chieh Cheng in the first round.

It is the first time for nearly a year that Egelstaff has made a long-haul trip, having recently concentrated on European tournaments. But Scotland's new head coach Yvette Yun Luo is looking to bring her to Paris in peak condition.

Egelstaff's last long haul trip was to last year's World Championships in India.
