The sportscotland institute of sport (SIS) provides high performance expertise to sport and athletes in Scotland through one of five different approaches
We engage with Sports Governing Bodies (SGB's)and work with them to agree what level of support they require for their athletes.
One of the following five levels of support is agreed upon and then the sport can begin to utilise our high performance expertise in the manner that suits them best.
Fully managed programmes
A British programme managed fully by the Sport Governing Body (SGB) or a Scottish programme managed by SGB or by SIS.
Jointly managed programmes
A British programme managed in partnership with the National Governing Body (NGB) or a Scottish programme managed in partnership with a SGB or by SIS
Targeted athlete programme
A personalised programme targeted around identified athlete/s managed by SIS or NGB/SGB
Projects/service level agreements
An agreed level of service targeted to deliver expert solutions that add value to an existing sports programme already run in house by that sport.
Outsourcing placements
A specific sports, or personalised athlete programme that is positioned in the best environment for success. This could be elsewhere in the UK or world.
