Originally starting his career in sport as a PE Teacher in Glasgow, Craig then moved into Further Education at Forth Valley College in 1986 where he spent the next 19 years. Before leaving in 2005 he reached the lofty position of Head of Leisure Industries where he was responsible for the areas of Sport and Recreation, Hospitality and Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. No jokes about the Good, the Bad and the Ugly please!
In 2005 Craig became Manager of Grampian Institute of Sport following Phil Reid’s move to the West of Scotland Institute of Sport. During his four years at GIS Craig saw three office changes with the last one being to the impressive Aberdeen Sports Village. Ironically he was only to enjoy his new workspace for one month as he then moved back south to his current post as Manager of Central Scotland Institute of Sport.
Outside of his Institute life Craig is involved in Volleyball having previously filled the position of Head Coach of the Senior Women’s National Team Programme and been coach to both Falkirk and Bon Accord Volleyball Clubs. His other passion lies with mountain biking with his highlight being a 500 mile off-road challenge over nine days from Portpatrick to Inverness last August.
