Workshop Aims

This workshop aims to provide a basic overview of autism.  It will give advice on how to plan a sports session or make adjustments to the way you work so your coaching is more effective. Coaches do not need special training to coach people on the autistic spectrum but they do need knowledge and some specific communication skills, coupled with confidence and understanding to make adjustments to the way you already work.  Practical tips and strategies will be discussed which you can apply during your sports sessions.

Who Should Attend?

This course is suitable for anyone who leads or assists physical activity programmes e.g. coaches, leaders, instructors.
