24-year-old Scottish Institute of Sport supported athlete Susan Hughes, currently world No.25, failed in her bid to make it three Scottish titles in a row when she was outplayed by her doubles partner Rita Gao, 21-17, 21-9 at the Scottish National Badminton Championships in Perth (2 - 4 February).
